This data product provides estimates of productivity growth in the U.S. farm sector for 1948-2017, and estimates of the growth and relative levels of productivity across U.S. States for 1960-2004. The next update to this data product—planned for the end of 2021—is expected to contain estimates for the U.S. accounts through 2019. Productivity describes various measures of the efficiency of production.Often, a productivity measure is expressed as the ratio of an aggregate output to a single input or an aggregate input used in a production process, i.e. output per unit of input, typically over a specific period of time. Most common example is the (aggregate) labour productivity measure, e.g., such as GDP per worker.
